US President Donald Trump says he would be deeply disappointed if China supplies weapons to Iran. He claims Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin personally assured him that they would not arm Tehran.

Washington D.C., July 30 | Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning over reports suggesting that China could supply advanced military equipment to Iran. Trump said such a move would be "extremely disappointing" and insisted that both Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin had personally assured him that they would not provide weapons to Tehran.

Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Trump responded to media reports claiming that Iran could soon receive more than 400 shoulder-fired air defence missile systems from China. While expressing surprise over the reports, he said he did not believe Beijing would violate the assurances given during his discussions with Xi Jinping.

According to Trump, the Chinese leader had clearly communicated that China would not participate in any military supply arrangement involving Iran. He added that if such reports turned out to be true, it would seriously damage mutual trust between the two countries.

The remarks come at a time when intelligence assessments in the United States are closely monitoring Iran's efforts to rebuild its military capabilities following months of regional instability. Some intelligence reports have suggested that Tehran is attempting to strengthen its air defence network with support from foreign partners, including possible assistance from China.

Trump also used his social media platform to argue that neither China nor Russia would benefit from supplying military hardware to Iran. He said such a decision would run against their own strategic interests and could further destabilise an already volatile region.

Recalling his recent meeting with Xi Jinping in Beijing, Trump said he had received a direct assurance that China would not send weapons to Iran. He added that he trusted the Chinese President to honour that commitment.

The US President also referred to his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that despite continuing tensions over the Ukraine conflict, Putin had likewise assured him that Moscow would not become involved in arming Tehran.

Meanwhile, American intelligence agencies are continuing investigations into whether foreign intelligence networks may have shared sensitive targeting information with Iran in connection with attacks on US military facilities in the Middle East. Officials have not yet released any conclusive findings, but the issue remains under close scrutiny.

Foreign policy experts believe Trump's latest remarks are aimed at sending a clear diplomatic message to both Beijing and Moscow while also reinforcing Washington's position on preventing any further military escalation in the Middle East. They note that any confirmed transfer of advanced weapons to Iran could significantly impact regional security and international relations.

At present, there has been no official confirmation from China or Russia supporting the reports of missile supplies to Iran. The claims remain under international observation, and developments over the coming weeks are expected to draw significant global attention.
